                      Charlene (that's me)

Make sure you check each blog's requirements as some DT might require additional info.

I got the chance to play with one of Pattie’s fabulous Christmas/Winter images. It’s the most adorable little penguin with his igloo and Pattie nicely put him into a snowglobe for me. You can get the penguin image here.

The cardstock is by Recollections and I used some white with purple glitter paper from Best Creations Inc. that I had in my stash. The purple metallic paper is some that I had left over from another project. I punched the snowflakes with my Marvy Snowflake punch and the top of the metallic paper with my Fiskars punch. The ribbon is from Holiday Time and I got it at Michaels. I stamped the snowflakes onto the blue cs with my versa mark and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. The image is colored with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. I heat embossed snow on the ground in the snowglobe with my Christmas Tinsel embossing powder. And I used stickles on my snowflakes in the globe. I made a gatefold card and the image is used to keep the card closed. I lifted the idea for the gatefold card from Kym over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge blog.

This is my card opened up. The sentiment on the front is from Pattie's Creations and the sentiment on the inside is from Crafty Cat 957 Designs.

The Hop will end at 1 P.M. (Central Standard Time) on Sunday, December 18th, and the winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 20th sometime in the afternoon.  Our DT will have their own winners posted on their blogs!

Don't forget to comment on everyone's blog for your chance to win some of these awesome prizes!!

Hope you enjoyed your stop here…your next stop is Jamie. Don’t forget to leave us some comments to get your chance at some of the incredible prizes that are being offered.

Twas the Night Before Christmas.....

Twas the Night before Christmas

And all through the house…

Not a creature was stirring….

Not even a Mouse!

It’s time again for another Digistamps4Joy challenge. This time our challenge is going to last for 4 weeks!! That’s right, you have 4 whole weeks to get a project done and enter it. That's because the DT is taking a holiday. The theme this time is It's Christmas…but no mouse in my house! That’s right, we want you to make a project with a Christmas theme, but no animals on it...not even a mouse. And we have a twist this time....everyone who enters a It's Christmas, no mouse card, can enter an Anything Goes card too. The only rule is that the Anything Goes card must have a Digistamps4Joy image.  Now doesn't that sound great?!
The wonderful image that I got to use for this challenge is called Christmas Candle. So I went online to see what I could find to do with this fab image….and I came across a really unique (at least to me) card.
It’s an Easel card with 2 mini add on’s. And the great thing about it is not only does it look good, but it’s really easy to make. You can find the tutorial for it here

I used a Sketch from Crafty Ann’s Challenge blog for challenge  #54.

So for my base I used black cs from Recollections. The green cs is metallic green and the red dp is Little yellow bicycle Wonder Wishes paper. I colored the image with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. The stars on the candle I coloured with my gold metallic Gelly Roll pen and the berry’s of the holly were coloured with my red glitter Gelly Roll pen. I used my SU ticket punch to punch the corners of the dp and used my  Nestibilities Pettite Scalloped Ovals to cut the black cs for behind the image. I’ll have to get back to you on the die I used for the image. The black glittery ribbon is by Celebrate It Holiday Ribbon. As my finishing touches I added a sentiment from Birds Cards, and some holly and poinsettia’s from K&Company. I also traced the edges of my die cut image with my red glitter Gelly Roll pen.
I hope that you'll head on over to Digistamps4Joy challenge blog and join us in this fun new challenge. And while you're there, check out the marvelous creations that my fellow teamies have created. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for visiting my blog,

Crafting with Jack Christmas Chandelier Challenge

Well it’s another wonderful wet day here on the “wet coast” of B.C. (can you hear the sarcasm? lol) Summer just seemed to pass by way too fast for me….and did we even have a fall this year? Sure doesn’t seem like it. And now here we are onto the Christmas season. As usual these days I seem to be just squeaking in under the wire on some of my challenges, and this one is no exception. Angela, from Crafting with Jack, had an absolutely wonderful Christmas challenge…and for this challenge she gave away the most awesome image. But don’t take my word, see for yourself.

Isn’t this image just incredible? You can find this one and all of her other fabulous images here.  I was so excited to be able to get it and enter in on the challenge, so I decided that I needed to do something special for this image. I did a double twisted easel card…I haven’t done one of these for a long time and I’ve always loved the look of them. The cs I used is from Stampin Up and the dp is scraps from my stash. I’m not positive, but I think it was by Recollections, but don’t quote me on that lol. I coloured the candles and leaves with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. The candle holder was coloured with my Gold Gelly Roll pen and the berries on my holly was coloured with my Red Gelly Roll Glitter pen. I coloured the flames with my Gold glitter gel pen. I just love the effect of it all.
The sentiments that I used are from Pattie’s Creations Christmas Sentiment Set, the rhinestones are from a package I got from our local dollar store and the flat backed pearls are from Recollections. I punched the corners with a corner punch from Making Memories.

Now although you can’t join in on this challenge because it’s already over, I would encourage you to check out her challenge blog because she has another great challenge happening now and another wonderful freebie to use for it! How great is that? I hope to see you all over there…and maybe leave a word or two for her incredible design team.

Thanks for visiting me…..

Pattie's Creations Christmas Challenge

Good day ladies, have I ever got a great challenge for you today. It’s challenge time again over at Pattie’s Creations and this time the theme is Christmas!!! Yup, it’s time to start getting all of those Christmas cards that you been putting off making, made. I was so incredibly lucky to be able to get the most heart warming image to use for this challenge. It’s a brand new one that Pattie made up for a drawing challenge on CDAC and as soon as I saw it I knew that I wanted it.
Does this image not just melt your heart to look at it? It's called Holiday Miracle and I think you can see why.  You can find it and all of her other fabulous images here. I decided that this very special image needed a very special project for it, so I looked around and found the tutorial for this fabulous Tea Light Easel card. It’s very easy to do and you can find the tutorial here. If you have any problems with it, please feel free to contact me.

So I colored my image with Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. The dp is My Minds Eye Lost and Found Christmas Tinsel paper and the cs is from SU. I used my Beaded Ovals Nestibilities for both my image and the sentiment. The sentiment is also from Pattie’s Creations…you can find them and a whole bunch more here.
I used my Stamp n Stuff Red Tinsel embossing powder on the beaded parts of my oval behind my image to tie it in with my dp and give it a little “pop”. I used my Star Dust stickles on the baby’s hat and the ribbon is from Celebrate It Holiday Ribbon (you can find this at Michaels).
So now that you’ve checked out my Christmas project, why don’t you head over to Pattie’s and join in the fun. The rules are simple…just make a project (it need not be a card) that follows the theme. Please, no back linking. You must use a Digital Image or Stamped Image on your project. You are not required to use one of Pattie’s images…although we would be thrilled if you did, but those projects made with a Pattie’s Creation image will get an extra entry into our random draw. For all of the rules and prizes head on over to the Challenge Blog. We have a few surprises over there that you don't want to miss out on hearing about. And while you’re there check out the incredible creations that my teamies have come up with.
Thanks for coming by,

The Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge

Wow, I am so far behind with my postings it’s not even funny…o.k. it might be funny to some of you that are in the same boat. Today I’m showing you a card that I did for a progressive challenge at the Outlawz. It’s called the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge and you can find it here.  Two fabulous ladies, Anne Fenton and Sandi Huggett,  have donated some incredible images for us to work with in this progressive challenge. This is one from the first set (sorry but we are now into the second set lol and they are equally fabulous!).

I just love this wonderful wreathe by Anne Fenton, of Anne’s Digital Art. She has put such wonderful details everywhere on it. Isn't that little bird just the cutest?

Now I used a sketch from a sketch challenge, but do you think I can find the paper that I wrote down who it was from? Of course not. For those of you that don’t know, we have just sold our house and we are in the process of looking for a new one…and things around here are kinda on the chaotic side. So as soon as I find where I got the sketch from I will post it. So the cs is from SU and the dp is from Momenta Specialty Collection. I colored the image with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. I also used my Atyou Spica Sparkling like stars red glitter pen, Red Star Gelly Roll pen, black Zig Writer and 2 different green felt pens from SU.  The ribbon is by Celebrate it, the Holiday line and the red flat backed pearls are from Recollections.

I hope you will pop over to The Outlawz and check out this wonderful progressive challenge.

Thanks for visiting me.....

He is the Reason for the Season

I’m back with another fabulous challenge from Digistamps4Joy. This week our challenge is a Tic Tac Toe Color Challenge. All you have to do is pick colors from the tic tac toe square….across, down, diagonal…whichever you like, just as long as they are 3 in a row, and make a card or project with those colors. You may have other colors present, but the main colors must be the colors you have picked from the tic tac toe square. You can find the square on our challenge blog here.

The colors that I picked were black, neutral and gold. I was so lucky to be able to play with the image that I got. It is called Christmas Window Baby, and you can find it and all of their other wonderful images here. I decided to use a gate fold card for my project.

The black cs is from SU (Stampin Up), the dp is from Forever in Time’s Yuletide collection, the Gold Metallic dp is from Recollections and the neutral cs under the sentiment is from Recollections. The sentiment is free from Teresa Arsenault, of Tickell Expressions, and you can find this one and others on her blog here or here. When you open my card you find the gorgeous image from Digistamps4Joy. As soon as I saw this image I knew that I wanted to create something with it.

Now originally I had wanted to print my image onto the gold metallic paper, but my printer wouldn’t let me do it…it kept telling me that my ink was not compatible with photo paper….I kept telling it that it wasn’t photo paper…the printer ended up winning lol. So I printed it onto white paper, traced it onto tracing paper and then traced that onto the gold paper. I then paper pieced each piece of the window, the dove and the baby Jesus and his bed.

I colored the baby and his bed with Stampin Up felts and the hay with Gold Metallic Gelly Roll pen. The rays coming down from the dove are done with Stickles with gold glitter in it (don’t know the actual name of the stickles as it's not on the bottle).  The Merry Christmas underneath is from SU and the Sentiments on either side are free from Desert Diva and you can find them here. The gold lace on the front and inside is by Celebrate It and the small round discs on the front are Swarovski Crystals Swarovski Metallics.

So now it’s your turn to show us what you got. Head on over to our challenge blog and check out all the rules and prizes. And while you’re there check out the incredible creations my teamies have made.

It’s that time again, time for another Pattie’s Creations challenge. Both Pattie and her sister Sandi are celebrating their birthday’s this month so the challenge is Birthday’s or Thanksgiving.

This time I got to play with Pattieboop and Allie on Safari…I absolutely love this image…it’s such a fun one. You can find it and all of her other fabulous creations here.
I used the sketch from Outlaws Wednesday Sketch challenge to make this easel card.
The cs is from SU, the green camo paper is by Recollections and the pink and purple camo paper, that I paper pieced onto the jeep and is under the sentiment, is by Junkitz Collection Paperz Teen collection.

The flowers and flat backed pearls  are by Recollections, the leaves I got at a garage sale and I used stickles on my flowers. I sponged around the image using SU Close to Cocoa. I used a Nestibilities die for the image and the sentiment and my SU rounded corner punch for the corners.

Starla's having a Blog Hop and Challenge!

Today’s the day, the day that Starla, of You Could Be Wishing on a Star, is having her blog hop and challenge! She is celebrating her birthday, her 1 year Blogaversary and reaching 100 followers and I’m so excited that she asked me to be a part of it!

If you got here from Cely’s blog then you’re on the right track. If not, go to Starla’s blog to get all the details. We hope that you’ll join in the fun as she’s going to have prizes…LOTS of prizes :D She has gift certificates for 5 lucky people who make comments on every stop along the way and a box of blog candy for the winner of the challenge!  Here’s what Starla had to say about all the prizes:
Now, before I get to the list for the blog hop, let’s talk about prizes, shall we? There are actually two parts to this celebration. The first is the blog hop. Every person that visits every stop in the hop and leaves a comment on each post gets entered into a drawing to win a $10 girft certificate to one of my favourite stamp companies. One will receive a gift certificate to Tiddly Inks, and one will receive a gift certificate to Guylou’s Inimitability. Click on the links (on her site) to visit their stores and browse around!

The second part of the celebration is….the challenge! Since I just LOVE fairies, I’m hosting a fairy themed challenge! All you need to do to enter is to create a fairy themed project and link it to Mr. Linky (on her site). Only one entry per person, and please remember to link directly to your post and not to your blog. You have till 11/12/11 at midnight CST to enter. The candy pictured (on her site) is the grand prize for the challenge! It has a little bit of everything so I hope it looks yummy!

So the theme for today’s hop is Fairy’s….don’t you just love them? I was so happy when I found out because I have all of these fabulous fairy images to choose from. The one that I went with is from WhoopsiDaisy Digital Stamps. She was one that I got as a freebie awhile back, but you can find a whole bunch of incredible images at their store here (and between you and me she has a great deal going on right now).

I used a sketch from Outlawz Wednesday Sketch challenge.

You can find it and the challenge here.
I used SU cardstock and the dp is from a Specialty Collection by Momenta. I coloured her with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. The gold accents are made with my Golden Star Gelly Roll pen and my Metallic Gold pen by Marvy. The blue ribbon is by Offray and the Poinsettia’s are confetti I had in my stash.
Your next stop is Lynn. If you get lost along the way, this is the order of the hop:
                             Vicki
                              Cely

                             Charlene (that's me)

                             Brenda
                             Tracy

Digistamps4Joy Challenge #31: With Gratitude

Hi everyone…hope you all had a wonderful Halloween. It was a quieter Halloween at our house as we are in the midst of selling our home, but there was lots of cute little one’s out and about that we could see walking down the street.

So today is the day that the new challenge for Digistamps4Joy starts up. Our theme for this challenge is With Gratitude. All you have to do is make a card that has With Gratitude, Thanks, Thank you…anything that is a thank you card. The image that I got to play with this time is called Angels Singing. This image would be good for so many different things….Christmas cards, friendship cards…and of course Thank you cards. You can find it and all the other fabulous images here.
I coloured this image with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons, Crayola pencil crayons and oms. The dp is scraps from my stash that I had used on a Sympathy card last year.
The blue and yellow ribbon I got at a garage sale over the summer. I added some Mulberry mini roses by Recollections and some flat backed pearls also by Recollections.
Rules are the same….you don’t have to use a Digistamps4Joy image to win the random draw, but we would sure love to see one. And if you use a Digistamps4Joy image you get 2 entries for the random draw and a chance to win a $6 gift certificate to spend in the store. How awesome is that? For full contest rules please go to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog here. And while you’re there check out the incredible creations that my teammates have come up with.

Starla's having a Blog Hop and Challenge!

Mark your calendars for November 6th because Starla from You Could Be Wishing On A Star, is having a Blog Hop and a Challenge!! Starla just celebrated her birthday, her one year blogaversary is coming up on November 7th and she reached 100 followers! So she decided that she wanted to celebrate in a big way.

She has lined up a bunch of fabulous ladies to help her with the hop and of course there is going to be prizes!! This is an event you don’t want to miss! So join me on November 7th in helping Starla have a “rocking” celebration!

It's a Recipe Challenge!!!

I had the honour of being asked to be a Guest Designer for NettieG’s Digital Gems Challenge. The theme for the challenge this time is a Recipe. You need to use:

1 Image

2 Flowers

3 Gems/Flatbacked Pearls

The image I got to play with is called “Emily in Mommy’s Clothes” and you can find her and all of Nettie’s other fabulous images here. I decided to go with a new fold that I found online. It’s called a Side Spring Card and you can find the tutorial here.

I used my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons to color the image and my White Gelly Roll pen for her buttons, necklace and the clasp on her purse. The paper is double sided paper called Life Patterns by Prima Patterns. The sentiment is from Nana Vic's Spiritual Word Art.

My flowers are a Mulberry paper rose by Recollections and a wonderful crocheted flower that my dear friend Sharon sent to me for my birthday. The 3 flatbacked white pearls are from Recollections.

We would love to see what all of you can come up with, so for all of the rules and details of the challenge head to NettieG’s Digital Gems Challenge Blog. And while you’re there check out what the rest of the DT has come up with.

Happy Halloween!!!

Just wanted to wish you all a "Spooktacular" Halloween. Hope that all your ghosts and goblins have a safe and fun Halloween :D

Pattie's Creations Challenge #32 - Halloween or Autumn Colors

Just a reminder to all of you, that Pattie's 20% off sale is still on...you don't want to miss out on this!! For how to get your 20% off check out Pattie's Challenge blog by clicking on the link below.

Hi everyone…well it’s time for another fantastic challenge at Pattie’s Creation’s Challenge Blog. The challenge this next two weeks is to make something with Halloween or Autumn Colors.

I was so lucky to be able to work with Pattie’s image “Wedding Cake”, that you can find here along with all of her other fantastic images. Wait till you see it…it looks so tasty! But instead of using it as a wedding cake, I used it as a birthday cake for a Belated Birthday card.
I colored it with my SU felts because I wanted the nice bright colors. I used Yellow Liquid Pearls in the center of the flowers and to hold the easel part open. The hearts around the layers of the cake were colored with my gold metallic pen.
The flowers, white pearls and leaves were from some of my wonderful friends for my birthday and the ribbon was from my stash.

You can use any digital image for your project, but if you use a Pattie’s Creations image, you will receive 2 entries for the ramdom draw. The challenge runs from now until Thursday Nov. 10 at 1:00 p.m. CST. To see all of the rules and what you can win, just click here. Digistamps4Joy Challenge #30 - Embellish/Embellish It

Seeing Double

Hi all…can you guess what time of year it is? Lol Well, here we are at the start of another challenge from Digistamps4Joy and this time we want you to embellish using 2 identical embellishments. That’s right, it can be 2 buttons, or two bows, brads or whatever you can come up with, just as long as there are two and they are identical. The usual rules apply…you don’t have to use a Digistamps4Joy image, but we would really love to see one and if you do it doubles your chances in the random draw! How great is that?

For this challenge I was lucky enough to be able to play with a new image that will be coming to the store real soon. She was recently added for a challenge on CDAC and I was very lucky to get to work with her.

I decided to do something I’ve never done before, but have always wanted to try…I made a corner bookmark. This was so much fun to do but I'll have to get back to you on where I found the tutorial because I seem to have lost the page lol.

Can you guess what my double embellishment is? I colored her with purple glitter pen, SU felts and Prisma Scholar pencil crayons with oms. I wanted to put something on the back so I found this great sentiment from Sassy Studios and added more bats. I then finished it off with some stickles. My dd was very happy that her mom decided to give it to her…Halloween is her favourite time of year lol.

So now it’s your turn. To join in just follow the link here, and check out the rules and prizes. And while you’re there, check out what my fellow teamies have made up to inspire you…you won’t be disappointed.

Pattie's Creations Challenge #31 - Halloween

Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd.
Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin'd.
Harpier cries:—'tis time! 'tis time!
Round about the caldron go;
In the poison'd entrails throw.— Toad, that under cold stone,
Days and nights has thirty-one; Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' the charmed pot!

ALL. Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here! Yup, today’s the day that I post my first project for Pattie’s Creations! And what a challenge it is! Now we all know what time of year it is…the time when little ghosts and goblins abound. And not only little ghosts and goblins, but witches too! So obviously our challenge is going to be a Halloween one! So go get all of those bats out of your belfry and come on and join us.

So for this challenge I was so lucky to be able to work with this totally fabulous image. Her name is Witch Pattieboop and you will be able to find her soon with all of Pattie’s other fantastic images at Pattie’s Shop here. I wanted to do something different for this challenge and I was so lucky to come across this wonderful tutorial for a Kleenex box cover. You can find the tutorial here.

Isn't she totally adorable? Now I know that you're all going to want to see a close up of her so far be it for me to disappoint you lol.

She sure looks like she's ready to go out trick or treating. The sentiment is from Sassy Studio. Now I had to fill up 4 sides to this box, so what better for another side than another one of Pattie's incredible images?

And who better to join Pattie on her night of trick or treating than her trusty friend Allie? The other 2 sides have Halloween sentiments on them. Here's a picture of the top of it.

So how do you join in on all the fun you ask? Well it's really simple, just make a Halloween themed project. It must have a digital image or stamped image on it. Although you don't have to use a Pattie's Creations image we would sure love to see one. For all the challenge details just click on the link here and it will bring you to Pattie's Challenge Blog. The challenge runs from now until Thursday Oct. 25th at 5 pm Central Mountain time. I hope to see all of you there. And while you're there, check out all of the incredible creations that my fellow teamies have done.

Supplies:
