A Walk in the Park

Well, here we are on the last day of NettieG's Fashion Challenge. For this last card I chose to have Elizabeth in a walking outfit...perfect for a walk in the park. You can find the image here. Nettie has Elizabeth and in her Corset and stockings, her petticoat and 3 dresses...2 day dresses and 1 walking dress...for sale in her store for $5.50. Go check out her store...she has some wonderful images.

Again, I wanted Elizabeth to stand out because she is such a lovely I colored her in red with purple trim. On her hat I added flower soft to make the flowers look more real. And added flower soft to the open gazeebo and flower pots around her.

I added a little red and white rose to the bottom right corner with small purple heart embellishments. In the bottom left and top right hand corners I have added larger purple heart embellishments. I also added the small hearts on the base of the card by the sentiment. The sentiment was by Squigglefly.
Supplies: SU Cherry Cobbler, Purple cs from Michaels
Purple frame by The Sherlocks' Home
Background gazeebo is from an advertisement for a gazeebo
Flowers by Recollections Boutique Fluer Mullberry Paper Mini Roses
Purple heart embellishments by Offray Stylish Accents

Hush Little Baby

Is there anything better than a baby? Well I don't know about you, but I don't think so. My best friend's son and his girlfriend just had a baby boy not long ago and I was invited tonight to meet him. Uhhh ohhh...what to do? I didn't have a I went searching and I found the most adorable little free image at T.L.C. Creations. I mean just look at him...couldn't you just pick him up and cuddle him?

So my first dilema was...what colors should I go with. I didn't want to go with the traditional soft blues or greens...I wanted something that would pop! Then I remembered that I had picked up some Thomas the Tank paper for making a card for them...duh! And it has the most wonderful colors of blues, yellow and red!
And SU had the perfect paper to match the yellow with it's Daffodil Delight! Sorry I don't know who the dp is by...bought it at Bartell's Scrapbooking store. The image was colored with my SU watercolors and I used blue pastels from SU for surrounding my image (I know you can't see it, but it is there lol). The fancy little edge on the pillow case was colored with blue glitter pen. The It's a Boy stamp, by Hero Arts, was stamped with SU More Mustard. The ribbons were from Dollar Giant and so were the little feet eyelets. I raided my dd stash for the sequins and the small pearls were a gift from Theresa.

Guylou's Inimitability's Red Challenge!

Hi you all had a chance to go and check out Guylou's Ininimitability's Anything Goes Challenge. The DT supplied some fantastic creations to inspire us, and there were some totally awesome entries!

But tonight starts a brand new challenge...the Red Challenge, and Guylou has supplied all of her Design Team with an incredible brand new image called....Cupid! This is not your ordinary cutsy cupid....oh no...this is a full fledged grown up female cupid that would be wonderful for a card for your favorite guy or gal! And lucky me (squeel here), I get to be the GDT (Guest Designer) for this fabulous challenge! When I first saw her I knew that I had to do something special with her. So I scoured the internet for an idea of what to do with her. And this is what I came up with.
This layout is what's called a Pendulum card and you can find the tutorial for it here. She swings back and forth to make sure she hits her target. I colored her with metallic red and glitter gold...and used Stickles on her wings. The heart is from Happi Scrappin Doodles and can be found here. The pp behind my cupid is from my Grafico and can be found here.

Now it's your turn to join in the fun.You can find the challenge and it's rules at Guylou's Challenge blog here. We would love for you to come join us and show us what you got! You can enter with any card or project that has red… but you get more entries if you use one of Guylou’s images.  If you don't own a Guylou's image you can get one at her store here or join her amazing blog group and she will give you a freebie. In fact, she has a fabulous one that she just gave to her group for reaching 300 followers. So there's really no reason not to join in the fun!  The prize is any image from Guylou's store and a Guest spot on her Design could you not want to join in on that! Come on over and check out what her incredibly talented Design Team has in store for you. You will not be disappointed! Be sure to add the link to your entry and not your whole blog (I forgot to do this...oops) as this makes it much easier on the team to find your creations.
Hope to see you all there!

Guylou's Inimitibility Anything Goes Challenge

Hi all, as I posted a couple of days back, Guylou's Inimitability is having an Anything Goes Challenge. There's still time to get in on it as it doesn't close until 10 p.m. EST. The prize is a free image from Guylou's Inimitibility. For my entry I used Guylou's Eve. I won her on another challenge of Guylou's and have been wanting to do something with her every since.

I used SU Pink Passion cs for my base, funky dp that I picked up at Dollar Giant, SU Tempting Turquoise, and an embossed pink cs that I picked up from Bartell's.
The flowers are by Portafolia, and the wonderful little pearls in the middle were a wonderful gift from Theresa. She is colored with SU Watercolor pencils and Metallic Pink Gelly Roll pen (on her earings, necklace and shoes) and Blue Glitter Pen (on her earings and necklace). The layout is by Alissa Marotta of Starry Nights Studio, and I found it on Hub Pages .

NettieG's Digital Gems Fashion Challenge

Nettie of Nettie G's was having a fashion challenge. This is a progressive challenge over 3 weeks. Last week we were emailed our first image. It was an image called Eliza and she was in her corsett and stockings. We had until 11:59 p.m. tonight to be able to link our card to her challenge. I decided to use this image to make a card for my sister for her upcoming birthday ('s not until April, but at least the card is done and ready to be mailed lol). I decided to go with a SU Rich Razzleberry cardstock for the base and printed the image on white cs from Michaels. I added a light pink cardstock from Micheals and stamped a Victorian heart on it (from Michaels) using SU Purely Pomegranate ink.

I colored her with SU watercolor pencils and distressed the edges with Colorbox Petal Point Enchantment ink to match the flowers. The clasps for the garter and buttons on her shoes,  are colored with a Silver Metallic Gelly Roll pen from Michaels. The flowers are by Portafolia and the brads in the centers are from Michaels. The sentiment is computer generated. The pearls are from my local scrapbooking store Bartell's. They are made by Recollections.

Guylous Inimitability Smile Challenge

So Guylou's Inimitability is having a Smile Challenge and the only requirements for it were that you used her Smile Bingo card and one of her images. When I first saw this challenge I was so excited...I knew exactly what I was going to do....and then we lost our Lady...and I was lost. So my plans changed....
We brought Lady home yesterday and I wanted to do something to commemorate her life...and this is what I came up with. Doesn't she have a great smile? I know I smile everytime I see this picture.  I used the Bingo card and Guylou's wonderful little Christmas freebie, Sundae with heart. I colored her so that she looked like our dog Molly...and of course Molly had to help so she put her paw marks on it and gave it a woof! I also used a new image from Priscilla Style''s called a Heart flourish and comes in a set of three.
I used card stock from my stash (sorry, there was no name for it), and white cardstock from Michael's. I traced around Lady's name, the love image and the bingo board with metallic pink pen from Bartell's. Molly's heart is colored in red glitter pen.
I also used some flowers by Portafolia and little pink and blue pearls given to me from a very wonderful lady. The tennis balls have gold glitter on their stripes.

I colored Molly and the Smile on the bingo card with SU water colors and I colored the Love image with metallic pink, blue and green pens. Each flower has a gold center.

Playtime is at 10:30 p.m....Run forever...Love you

It is with great sorrow that we said goodbye yesterday to a much loved member of our family. Our wonderful 12 1/2 year old dog Lady left us yesterday to go and join her friend Pepper.
Lady was born on August 4th 1998, and became a member of our family 3 days before she turned 6 weeks old. Of all the little puppies that we looked at from her litter, she was the one that time and again made a beeline for us. She was such a little ball of fur, it's hard to believe that she was ever that small.
I remember sitting one night in our family room and watching t.v., when all of a sudden we could here Lady growling away. We looked for her and all we could see was her little wiggling bum sticking out from under our couch. When my dh got down to check on what she was doing he found a big bone from another dog that had been in our house. It was huge for her and she had this look on her face like she had just hit the mother load! She tried so hard to cart that bone around lol.
Lady may have been the family dog, but she was definitely my husband's girl. She did anything and everything for her daddy. Every night at 10:30 Lady would find her ball (she could be in a deep sleep and her internal clock would wake her up at 10:30 every night. The only time that changed was for daylight savings lol), and start bugging the dh to take her outside. In later years, after she had gotten arthritis, she still managed to go and chase balls with her dad...and mom's new puppy Molly. By this time she had lost a lot of her hearing and could only see shadows, so Molly would grab the ball and jump around barking in front of Lady until Lady gave chase to get the ball away.

Lady loved to camp...I remember many happy weekends spent away tenting or tent trailering with our wonderful girl. She loved the great long as we were out in it with her. And she loved the water...we would throw the ball over and over into a lake and she would happily go and swim for it and bring it back. We had to be so careful because she would keep going back and forth as many times as you would throw it no matter how tired she was. Our wonderful girl loved to do long as it was with us.
On the day that we said good bye, my dh wrote on one of Lady's new balls...Playtime is at 10:30 p.m., Run Forever, Love Dad. That is why I used that as my title...may you play forever Lady.

Sleep well our beautiful will be missed...until we meet again, Love Mom, Dad, Josh and Kat.
